Nate Finch

Nate Finch is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in various technical roles. Currently a Senior Software Engineer at GitHub since August 2021, Nate specializes in Go programming for user-facing server features, including Copilot. Prior to GitHub, Nate worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Mattel, leading a team to develop cloud platforms for connected devices and applications from February 2017 to August 2021. Earlier experience includes serving as both Engineering Manager and Software Engineer at Canonical Ltd. from July 2013 to January 2017, contributing to the development of Juju, and as a Member of Technical Staff at Advent Software focusing on C# development for financial services from December 2006 to July 2013. Initial work experience includes software engineering roles in C++ at various startups from January 2000 to November 2006. Nate holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, earned in 1999.
