Philip Ginsbach-Chen

Philip Ginsbach-Chen is a Compiler Engineer at GitHub, where they are currently part of the core team behind GitHub's CodeQL static analysis engine and serve as the engineering lead for the introduction of generic programming to CodeQL. With a PhD in Computer Science from The University of Edinburgh, Philip has a strong background in compilers, program analysis, and heterogeneous computing, along with 15 years of experience in C++. Previously, Philip held research and engineering roles at Microsoft, ARM, and DKFZ German Cancer Research Center, contributing significantly to various projects and further advancing their expertise in the field. Their early education includes a Master's in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor's from Heidelberg University.
