Sam Tran

Sam Tran currently serves as a Staff Engineering Manager at GitHub, leading platform teams within Copilot to enhance customer interaction with AI models. With a background that includes managing teams to deliver core VMs for CI/CD jobs, Sam previously held multiple engineering management roles at Mesosphere, overseeing the development of Kubernetes multi-cloud enterprise products and leading a global team focused on automating big data technology deployments. Earlier experience includes a role as a Senior Software Engineer at RMS, where Sam developed a stochastic modeling engine for catastrophe risk assessment, and tech recruiting positions at AppNexus and Gambit Technologies. Sam holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University at Albany and completed training at Flatiron School in 2014.
