Tom Hvitved

Tom Hvitved is a Staff Software Engineer at GitHub, a position held since 2022, following a tenure as a Senior Software Engineer from 2019 to 2022 after GitHub's acquisition of Semmle. Prior to joining GitHub, Tom worked as a Research Engineer at Semmle from 2015 to 2019 and held various development roles at Edlund A/S and SimCorp between 2012 and 2015. Tom's earlier experience includes serving as a Consultant/Student Helper at Netcompany A/S from 2005 to 2007. Academically, Tom earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from the University of Copenhagen, where they also completed a Master of Science in the same field.
