Andrew Newdigate

Andrew Newdigate is a highly accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in infrastructure and software development. Currently serving as a Senior Distinguished Engineer at GitLab since January 2017, Andrew has played a pivotal role in the GitLab Dedicated product suite and has led major engineering initiatives, focusing on architecture definition and team leadership. Previously, Andrew co-founded Gitter, a messaging platform for developers, and served as the CTO before its acquisition by GitLab. Andrew's earlier roles include senior engineering positions at Barclays Wealth and Daiwa Capital Markets, where critical financial systems and risk management services were developed. Andrew's career also includes entrepreneurial experience running a consulting firm and contributing to pharmaceutical R&D projects. Andrew holds a B.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town.
