Brendan O'Connor

Brendan O'Connor is a Staff Security Engineer at GitLab, where they serve as one of the founding engineers on the Data Security team, focusing on eliminating security debt and improving processes. With a diverse background in security roles across various companies, Brendan has previously held positions at Render, Cedar, RealSelf, and GitHub, where they worked on policy and compliance initiatives. They also served as Chief Technology Officer and DSS at Malice Afterthought, Inc., providing software and security consulting services. Brendan holds a BS in Computer Science and an MSE in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University, as well as a Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating Cum Laude.
