Daniel Abeles

Daniel Abeles is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in vulnerability research and security analysis. Currently serving as a Vulnerability Research Manager at GitLab since March 2024, Daniel previously held the position of Head of Research at Oxeye from July 2021 to June 2024. Daniel's tenure at Akamai Technologies spanned five years, where roles included Principal Security Research Team Lead and Senior Security Researcher, primarily focusing on adversarial research, threat detection, and emerging attack trends. Earlier experience includes roles as a Security Researcher and Penetration Tester at Avnet Cyber & Information Security, and as a Forensics & Malware Analyst in the Israeli Air Force. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Holon Institute of Technology.
