Gunnar Andrews

Gunnar Andrews is a seasoned security professional with extensive experience in application and cloud security roles. Currently serving as a Senior Application Security Engineer at GitLab since June 2025, Gunnar has also been involved with the Synack Red Team as a Red Team Researcher since May 2020. Prior to these positions, Gunnar worked at Interwell Health as a Senior Application/Cloud Security Engineer, where responsibilities included securing cloud-native applications and conducting source code reviews and penetration testing. Earlier career highlights include efforts in application and cloud security at Cricket Health, product security at Honeywell, and roles in information security at Optum. Gunnar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, completed in 2019, and has a foundation in technical skills gained as a General Service Technician at Tire Pros & Wheel Experts.
