Staff Site Reliability Engineer

Matt Smiley is a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer with extensive experience in scaling challenges, resource efficiency, and observability. Currently serving as a Staff Site Reliability Engineer at GitLab since May 2019, Matt focuses on GitLab SaaS and has implemented significant innovations, such as migrating to Redis Cluster and analyzing lock contention in Postgres. Prior to this role, Matt worked at iovation as a Sr. Service Reliability Engineer, enhancing automation and monitoring in real-time systems.
