Shao Ming Tan

Shao Ming Tan is a backend engineer at GitLab since December 2022, with previous experience as the head of engineering at OSbiome leading product development and managing engineering and design teams. Tan held a senior software engineering position at Circles.Life, where responsibilities included evaluating 5G control plane libraries and developing a new billing system. Prior roles include product engineer at ReferralCandy, engineering manager at Prime Technologies, and full stack engineer at Talenox, with notable achievements in designing innovative software solutions and managing diverse technical teams. Tan co-founded the skills volunteering platform Multi-fac and the social giving platform Hoodhelp, and has a solid educational background in electrical engineering from the National University of Singapore, including participation in the NUS Overseas Colleges program in Silicon Valley.
