Dr. Jan Köhnlein

Dr. Jan Köhnlein has over 15 years of experience in the software industry. In 2005, they began working as a Senior Software Architect for Gentleware AG. Three years later, in 2008, they moved on to itemis AG, also as a Senior Software Architect. In 2016, they co-founded TypeFox and held the same position for four years. Most recently, in 2020, they co-founded Gitpod.

Dr. Jan Köhnlein obtained their PhD in Computer Science from the Hamburg University of Technology in 2004. Prior to that, they earned a Dipl.-Math. in Mathematics from the University of Hamburg between 1991 and 1999.
