Jay Slack

Research Fellow

Jay Slack has extensive experience in the field of research, currently serving as a Research Fellow at Givaudan since 2000, where responsibilities include strategic planning and execution of foundational research projects. Slack has a proven track record in establishing and leading research teams, particularly in the areas of taste modulation, having initiated the taste biology group and developed various bioassays that contributed to multiple granted patents. Previously, significant roles at Givaudan included Senior Research Investigator and Principal Research Investigator, focusing on receptor-based assays and high-throughput screening for proprietary taste active compounds. Before Givaudan, Jay Slack was a Post-doctoral Scientist at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, applying positional cloning techniques to advance understanding of immune system function. Academic credentials include a PhD in Pharmacology and Cell Biophysics from the University of Cincinnati and a BS in Biology from Bowling Green State University.
