Alex Mitchell has worked in a variety of roles since 2012. Alex began their career as a Communications Intern at Qatar Foundation International, where they wrote tutorials, memos, analytical reports, and press releases, edited the foundation's site and blog, filmed, produced, and edited the foundation's videos, and maintained the foundation's social media presence across multiple platforms. In 2017, they moved on to become a Warehouse Receiver at Politics & Prose Bookstore, where they were trained in IBID, inventory control software for bookstores, offloaded and inventoried merchandise regularly exceeding fifty pounds, managed credit and compensation claims for damaged or undelivered items, and ensured minimal price discrepancies between vendor invoices and shipments. In 2019, they worked as a Wind Turbine Technician at BHI Energy, where they installed climb assist systems in GE wind turbines, trained in tower rescue, and was certified in First Aid / CPR. Most recently, in 2020, they became a Software Engineer at GiveCampus and a Teaching Assistant at The George Washington University. In their teaching role, they assisted students and the teacher during class activities and projects, led algorithm drills with students before class, and helped and worked with students after class.

Alex Mitchell attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2012 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a focus in Professional Writing and Technical Communication.
