Dr. Jan S. is the Head of Digital Transformation in Africa at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, where they coordinate regional and pan-African digital projects and manage a team of over 50 people across 10 countries. Previously, Dr. Jan served as the head of global knowledge cooperation, learning, and alumni at the Academy for International Collaboration from 2011 to 2015, and they held multiple roles in project and knowledge management within GIZ and GTZ. With a background in economics and experience as a systemic coach, Dr. Jan has contributed to numerous projects across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, earning recognition as Knowledge Manager of the Year in 2005. Dr. Jan holds both a diploma and a doctorate in economics from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
