Laura Overmeyer

Laura Overmeyer is the Head of Project for Gender-equitable Social Protection at GIZ Egypt, where they focus on promoting equitable social policies. Previously, they served as a Country Desk Officer for Egypt and Regional Programmes North Africa and have held various roles in international collaboration and journalism. Their educational background includes a Master of Science in Development Studies from SOAS University of London and a Bachelor of Arts in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Hamburg. Laura has also contributed to multiple organizations, including Alsharq REISE GmbH and dis:orient e.V., enhancing understanding of sociopolitical contexts in the MENA region.
