Mark Schauer is the current co-lead for the GIZ project Resilient Rural Areas and the ELD Initiative. They have held various roles at GIZ focusing on economic valuation in sustainable ecosystem management and restoration. Previously, Mark served as Head of the Central Office of TEEB at the United Nations Environment Programme and worked at the German Federal Ministry for Environment. Mark earned a Master's Degree in Forest Management from the University of Göttingen, Germany, and has experience in natural resource management across Europe, Africa, and Asia.
