Andy Smith

Andy Smith is an experienced aerospace professional currently serving as IPT Lead Programme Manager for Airbus Single Aisle at GKN Aerospace since December 2023. Previously, Smith held roles at GKN Aerospace including Operations Manager in a temporary assignment, lead programme manager for Airbus Single Aisle, Global Chief Manufacturing Engineer, and Programme Manager in various capacities. Notable achievements include delivering significant cost savings through global sourcing procurement, developing key supplier relationships, and implementing engineering and quality improvements. Prior experience includes serving as Engineering Manager and Engineering Group Leader at Airbus, where Smith managed engineering standards and led continuous improvement initiatives. Academic qualifications include a Post Graduate degree in Management from Lancaster University and further studies at the University of Warwick’s Warwick Business School.
