Software Engineer at Glass Imaging

Doug MacEwen has worked in the software engineering field since 2014. Doug began their career as a Backend Intern at Shocase in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, they moved to FactSet as a Software Engineer. In 2017, they founded Tone, where they independently developed image processing technology allowing users to measure their skin tone using an iOS app and recommending skin tone matching foundation makeup. Doug developed a novel Python image processing pipeline combining multiple exposures under varied lighting levels to extract accurate colors and built an iOS app with MVVM pattern leveraging RxSwift to wrap UI, state, networking, camera, real time video and image processing, and facial landmarking in a declarative way. Doug also built video processing pipeline for real time user feedback based on facial landmarking and an image processing pipeline for cropping, resizing, and lossless PNG conversion. In 2020, they joined GLASS Imaging as a Software Engineer.

Doug MacEwen attended the University of Michigan from 2012 to 2016, where they earned a degree in Computer Science Engineering with a focus in Computer Science.
