Hugo Leijtens

Hugo Leijtens has a diverse professional background with experience in various industries. Hugo is currently working as the Head of Special Operations at Glassnode since February 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Smart Cell - Find The Money at Taskforce-RIEC Brabant-Zeeland starting from January 2022.

Before their current roles, Hugo Leijtens was associated with CHC Capital as part of a stealth startup from January 2021. Hugo also served as a Non Executive Director at VFD Group Plc from November 2019 to May 2022, where they contributed to the development and deployment of VBank, a fintech bank aimed at driving financial inclusivity in Nigeria.

In the past, Hugo Leijtens worked as the Chief Architect at Retailcoin from April 2017 to June 2020. The company aimed to revolutionize loyalty programs in the retail industry by leveraging blockchain technology.

Prior to their role at Retailcoin, they were the Head of Direct Sales and Marketing Systems at Nikon Europe B.V. from February 2015 to March 2017. During this time, they led a team responsible for providing B2C and marketing technologies to 28 European countries.

Hugo Leijtens also held leadership positions at Nexocial, where they served as the Chief Innovation Officer and later as the CEO of Nexocial Chengdu LTD. Their tenure at Nexocial spanned from October 2008 to July 2014.

Earlier in their career, they worked at ING as a Technical Fellow from October 2010 to September 2012, designing solutions for SharePoint and optimizing business processes. Prior to that, they worked at Microsoft as an Account Technology Specialist and later as a Partner Technology Specialist from March 2005 to March 2008, where they played a role in promoting and selling Microsoft technologies to businesses in the Dutch landscape.

Before their time at ING and Microsoft, Hugo Leijtens was the owner of Strategic IT. Hugo implemented networks for various customers, including Bavaria and Kappa Packaging, and also worked as an Innovation Product Manager for KPN Retail.

Hugo Leijtens has had a diverse education history. From 2000 to 2006, they pursued an MCSE degree in Enterprise Architecture at Microsoft Technologies. In 1999, they studied Informatica at Avans University of Applied Sciences. Hugo also attended Fontys University of Applied Sciences from 2003 to 2005, majoring in Management, Economics, and Law. Hugo briefly studied Law at Tilburg University in 2001 and 2002. Additionally, they attended a Private School from 2000 to 2003 and studied Physics, Health, and Religion. In 2008, Hugo attended the Mandarin School in Beijing to learn Chinese - Mandarin.

Hugo has obtained several certifications, including MVP Alumni from Microsoft in May 2023, Certified Advanced Investigator from TRM Labs in April 2023, and AMLD5 from CySEC - Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission in November 2021.
