Julia Smith

Julia Smith is a highly experienced professional in clinical development, currently serving as Director of Clinical Development at GSK since September 2024. With over 20 years of experience in drug discovery and clinical projects across multiple disease areas including neurology, gastrointestinal diseases, severe COVID-19, and immuno-inflammation, Julia has established a reputation as an effective leader and collaborator. Prior to this role, Julia worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at St George's Hospital Medical School, where significant contributions included the development of two models to study emesis and authoring three research publications. Julia holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Neurophysiology from University College London, completed in 1999.
