Statistics Disease Area Head for Hepatology, Fibrosis & Inflammation, Neuro, Renal & GI

Mark Whitlock is a Statistics Leader with over 25 years of experience in clinical, non-clinical, and pre-clinical areas. They currently serve as the Biostatistics Disease Area Lead for Hepatology, Fibrosis & Inflammation, Neuro, Renal, and GI at GSK, where they direct a global team of approximately 50 statisticians. Previously, Mark held various management roles at Pfizer, including Vice President and Group Head for early clinical development in Inflammation & Immunology and other therapeutic areas. Mark possesses strong technical skills and expertise in experimental design, Bayesian analysis, and training non-statisticians in statistical techniques. They earned a BA in Maths and Economics (1st Class), an MSc in Statistics (Distinction), and a PhD in Statistics, all from the University of Kent.
