Matt Smith

Matt Smith is currently the EHS R&D Biological Safety Manager at GSK, a position held since 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Lead Health and Safety Advisor at Public Health England from 2018 to 2021 and the Lead Biosafety Specialist at The Francis Crick Institute in 2021. Matt has also held research positions at the University of St Andrews, the University of Oxford, and as a Post Doctoral Researcher at NIBSC. They completed their PhD at Imperial College London between 2007 and 2010 and continue their education there.
