Simone Bufali

Simone Bufali is a seasoned expert in drug product development with extensive experience in the vaccine sector, currently serving as the Head of Drug Product R&D and Head of Technical R&D Programs at GSK since March 2015. In this role, Simone leads CMC development programs at the Italian R&D center, integrating product and process development within the global technical R&D framework. Prior to GSK, Simone held several roles at Novartis, including Department Head of Vaccine Technical Development Drug Product, where responsibilities encompassed leading vaccine drug product development across various stages. Simone began a career at Merck as a Research Chemist focused on preclinical profiling and physicochemical characterization. Educationally, Simone holds a PhD in Chemistry from ETH Zürich and an Ms.Sci. from Università degli Studi di Perugia.
