Toby Johnson

Toby Johnson is the Executive Director of Genomic Technologies at GSK, where they lead a team of 40 scientists and sit on the Human Genetics and Genomics Leadership Team. Prior to their current role, Toby served as Scientific Director in both Genomic Data and Analytics and Statistical Genetics at GSK from 2018 to 2024, and held several academic positions, including as a Lecturer and Research Fellow at multiple universities. Toby obtained a PhD in Mathematical Population Genetics and a BSc in Genetics and Mathematics from the University of Edinburgh. Their extensive research includes contributions to the field of statistical methodology for genetic studies and significant work on cardiovascular disease genetics.
