Allen Butcher

Allen Butcher has extensive experience in the coal industry, having held significant managerial roles at Glencore Coal and Xstrata Coal. As General Manager for Operational Excellence and Engineering, Process and Projects at Glencore Coal, Allen oversaw strategic management, project control, and optimization of processes and cost efficiencies. Notable accomplishments include leading a $1 billion brownfields coal project as General Manager at Xstrata Coal. Currently serving as Head of Engineering and Technology at Glencore, Allen's educational background includes a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, an MBA from Stellenbosch University, and a Graduate Diploma in Mining Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.
