Robin Buchan

Robin Buchan is an experienced leader in digital transformation and procurement, with a career spanning over two decades in various roles. Currently serving as the Digital Transformation Lead at Glencore since January 2015, Robin is responsible for identifying and implementing transformation opportunities within Astron Energy, particularly focusing on SAP Analytics Cloud to enhance business planning processes. Prior to this, Robin held the position of Global Program Manager, leading a successful global implementation of the COUPA procurement platform. As Chief Information Officer, significant cost savings were achieved through the consolidation of ERP support across South African businesses. Earlier roles at Glencore / Xstrata included Chief Procurement Officer, where Robin transformed the inbound supply chain into a world-class shared-service operation, and Information Systems Manager, overseeing a crucial SAP implementation. With experience as a Manager at Accenture and a founding member of an internet startup, along with a strong educational background in business administration and metallurgical engineering, Robin Buchan brings a wealth of expertise to the field.
