Chizuru Aoki

Chizuru Aoki is the Manager of the Multilateral Environmental Agreements and Funds Division at the Global Environment Facility, where they oversee significant initiatives on climate finance and multilateral environmental agreements. Previously, Chizuru served as a Senior Programme Officer and Iraq Project Coordinator at UNEP from 2003 to 2010. Chizuru earned a Ph.D. in Technology, Management, and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they also completed a post-doctoral research program. Their academic background includes a Master’s in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Rice University.
