🌐 Global Ethanol Association (GEA)

Swiss-based, non-profit organization that serves as a global platform for collaboration, policy engagement, and market development across the ethanol value chain.

As expectations for sustainability, regulatory compliance, and international coordination accelerate, GEA brings together ethanol producers and traders, technology providers, shipowners and ship operators, marine engine manufacturer, policymakers, certification bodies, and investors to support the scalable deployment of ethanol in hard-to-abate sectors.

Founded in Switzerland, a neutral and strategic hub for international cooperation, GEA promotes evidence-based policy dialogue, regulatory alignment, and commercially grounded solutions that translate climate objectives into deployable fuel pathways.

🌍 Ethanol Marine Fuel Sector Initiative (Flagship Program)

GEA’s Marine Fuel Sector Initiative advances ethanol as a compliant, scalable, and globally available marine fuel, supporting maritime decarbonization through coordinated engagement on regulation, standards, deployment, and market readiness.

✈️ Aviation Fuel Sector Initiative – Ethanol-to-Jet as SAF

GEA’s Aviation Fuel Sector Initiative focuses on accelerating the availability and scale-up of ethanol-to-jet (ETJ) as a compliant, bankable, and globally scalable sustainable aviation fuel solution.

With SAF demand now driven by regulatory mandates such as ReFuelEU Aviation and national blending requirements, the Initiative addresses the critical challenge of supply readiness, unlocking ETJ project pipelines, securing regulatory and standards alignment, de-risking investment, and enabling long-term commercial deployment at scale.
