Ben Ryder

Ben Ryder has extensive work experience in the field of electrical engineering and solutions engineering. Ben is currently working as the Solutions Engineering Director at Global Switch, a role they have held since July 2022. Prior to this, Ben was the Solutions Engineering Manager (Europe) at Global Switch from January 2020 to July 2022.

Before joining Global Switch, Ben worked at Deerns as an Associate Director from February 2015 to January 2020. During their time at Deerns, Ben also held the position of Senior Electrical Engineer from February 2012 to February 2015. Ben'sresponsibilities in this role included electrical engineering design and consultancy, with a focus on data centre projects in the UK and Europe. Ben played a key role as the lead engineer for a new data centre campus in Western Europe, overseeing its design, construction, and completion.

Prior to their tenure at Deerns, Ben worked at AECOM as a Senior Electrical Engineer from September 2007 to February 2012. Ben'sresponsibilities in this role included the design of electrical services for various construction projects, such as data centres, laboratories, schools, and commercial developments. Ben also gained project management experience on several small-scale projects during their time at AECOM.

Ben Ryder attended the University of Exeter from 2003 to 2007 and obtained a Master of Engineering degree in Electronic Engineering. In addition to their degree, Ben also holds certifications including Accredited Tier Designer from the Uptime Institute, which they obtained in September 2015, and Chartered Engineer from the Engineering Council, which they obtained in November 2012.
