Alan Shaffer

Alan Shaffer is currently a Board Member with the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies and serves on the boards of several organizations, including Falcon's Landing, Pacific Defense, and GlobalFoundries. They hold the position of Director of Washington Operations at MIT Lincoln Lab and are a Strategic Advisor at Red Cell Partners. Previously, Alan worked as the Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Defense Programs and the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment. Alan earned a Master's of Science in National Resource Management from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and a Master of Science in Meteorology from the Naval Postgraduate School.
