Anthony Patterson has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Anthony is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Globalization Partners since March 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Clearstream as a Senior Software Developer from October 2018 to March 2021.
Before Clearstream, Anthony worked at Compliance and Risks as a Database Analytics Engineer from May 2016 to October 2018. In this role, they worked closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and designed MySQL queries to extract and analyze the data using various tools like GCP, Docker, Solr, and Spark. Anthony's work experience also includes a role as a Research Fellow at University College Cork, Ireland (UCC) from April 2010 to August 2013. In this position, they were the technical lead for the development of the Climate Information Platform for Ireland (ClimateIreland) and conducted statistical analysis of climate model output using R. Anthony also developed web front-end applications using Java, Clojure, SVG, and JavaScript.
Anthony's career began at EMC, where they held various roles from January 2001 to December 2009. Anthony started as a Software Developer, worked as a Team Lead, and ultimately became a Product Architect. During their time at EMC, they prototyped a data center management tool using Semantic Web technologies and actively participated in model-driven architecture and standardization forums.
Before joining EMC, Anthony worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at Raytheon from December 1999 to February 2001. Anthony also worked as a Software Engineer at Airsys ATM from November 1997 to November 1999, and as a Software Engineer at Eurocontrol from June 1994 to November 1997, where they developed Computer Based Training programs for Air Traffic Control and worked on UI programming for ATC simulators.
Anthony Patterson completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechanical Engineering at University College Dublin from 1986 to 1991. In 2001, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Software Development at Munster Technological University, which they completed in 2003. Additionally, Anthony obtained various certifications in courses related to data science and product management from LinkedIn and Coursera, with the earliest certification obtained in February 2016 and the latest obtained in June 2021.
