Senior Engineering Manager at Globalization Partners

Lorcan Browne has a diverse work experience spanning across multiple companies and roles. Lorcan is currently working as a Cloud Engineering Manager at Globalization Partners since July 2022. Prior to this, Lorcan held various positions at Cisco, starting as a Senior Software Development Engineer from March 2016 to January 2020. In this role, they were responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud micro services for the Cisco Webex Teams product. Lorcan also provided 24/7 support in a large-scale production environment. Lorcan then progressed to the role of Technical Leader Engineering at Cisco from January 2020 to March 2022, and finally worked as a Software Engineering Manager from October 2021 to June 2022. Before joining Cisco, Lorcan worked as a Senior Software/Systems Engineer at Hewlett-Packard from March 2009 to February 2016, where they focused on research and development of Openstack Swift for HP Cloud Services. Lorcan was responsible for designing, maintaining, upgrading, and expanding the object storage services on public cloud systems. Lorcan started their career as an Intern/Student Engineer at Valeo from April 2005 to September 2005.

Lorcan Browne pursued their education with a focus on technology and engineering. Lorcan completed their Master of Engineering Science (MEngSc) degree, majoring in "Region of Interest Detection for Automotive Applications," at the University of Galway from 2007 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned their undergraduate degree in Electronic & Computer Engineering from the same university, graduating from 2002 to 2006. Lorcan's education journey began at St Josephs Patrician College in Galway, where they obtained their Leaving Certificate from 1997 to 2002.
