Benoît Lombardot

Principal Scientist, Data Science at Galapagos

Benoît Lombardot has a diverse range of work experience in the fields of data science and image analysis. Benoît started their career as a Research Intern at Philips Research in 2003. Afterward, they pursued a PhD at Polytechnique from 2005 to 2011. Following this, they worked as a Post-doctoral fellow at Institut Pasteur Korea from 2011 to 2014. Benoît then became the Bio Image Informatics team leader at Scionics Computer Innovation, where they set up and ran a bio-image analysis service at the Max Planck Institute. In 2018, they joined Galapagos as a Principal Scientist, where they collaborated with various teams to accelerate data-centric approaches in drug discovery. At Galapagos, they developed deep learning analysis tools for microCT and histopathology slides, and provided consulting services for high content assay in vitro pharmacology. Benoît also developed image analysis and profiling tools, managed high content resources, and conducted various training activities.

Benoît Lombardot completed their education with a Master of Engineering degree in Physics and Chemistry from ESPCI Paris - PSL in 2005. Benoît then pursued a Master's degree in Cognitive Sciences at Pierre and Marie Curie University from 2004 to 2005. In 2010, they obtained their PhD from École Polytechnique, specializing in Image Analysis applied to Biological Systems.
