Ellen De Backer has extensive experience in financial leadership and analysis across various healthcare and consulting firms. Currently serving as the Commercial Controller for the BAND Region at Galapagos since January 2020, Ellen also acts as the Finance Partner for the Commercial Benelux division. Prior roles include Business Intelligence Manager and Business Planning Analyst at Novartis from May 2010 to January 2020, and Budgeting & Reporting Manager at Tibotec-Virco (Johnson & Johnson) from April 2008 to April 2010. Earlier experience includes positions as a Project Consultant at Trifinance and various controller roles at de Post, ZNA, and Capgemini Belgium. Ellen began her career as a Business Administrator & Controller at Siemens nv from March 2002 to October 2005. Ellen holds a degree from KU Leuven, completed in 2001.
