Jay Cui

Jay Cui is a highly experienced professional in the biopharmaceutical industry, currently serving as VP of Search and Evaluations at Galapagos since October 2025. Previous positions include Principal at Abingworth from 2021 to October 2025, and involvement as a Board Observer at Accent Therapeutics, Inc. and Caribou Biosciences in 2021. From 2017 to 2021, Jay worked as Director of AbbVie Ventures, the venture capital arm of AbbVie. Prior experience also includes board observer roles at Disarm Therapeutics and a business consultant position at ZS, focusing on the biopharma sector. Jay has extensive background in management consulting with inVentiv Health and a leadership role at the Chicago Tri-Institutional Center for Chemical Methods and Library Development. An academic foundation includes a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Chicago, an MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Peking University.
