Lantz MacKey

Head Of Process Development CMC

Lantz Mackey currently serves as the Head of Process Development CMC at Galapagos since 2023, after holding the position of Director CAR-T Process Development at Novartis from 2019 to 2023, where responsibilities included leading early process and analytic development for CAR-T and HSC cell therapies. Prior experience includes roles as Associate Director of Cell Therapy Development at Novartis, Fellow Scientist and Principal Scientist in Analytical and Process Sciences at bluebird bio, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, focusing on the effects of environmental chemicals on human embryonic stem cells. Lantz's early career included work as a Gem Fellow at DePuy Synthes Companies, contributing to pre-clinical research. Lantz holds a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Pathology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as a Post-baccalaureate Certificate in Microbiology and Immunology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Mary Washington.
