Ruben Mattheus

Ruben Mattheus is an accomplished pharmaceutical professional with extensive experience in quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Currently serving as Central Site Qualified Person and Associate Director at Galapagos since December 2021, Ruben is integral in establishing CAR-T quality systems for in-house QP certification of investigational cell therapy products. Previously at Galapagos, as Quality Management Lead, Ruben played a key role in developing supply chain and quality processes for the successful commercialization of Jyseleca(R). Prior to that, Ruben held various positions at Qualiphar NV, including QA Operations Manager and QA Operations Supervisor, focusing on managing quality systems. Ruben also gained valuable experience at Pfizer as a Project Engineer in Operational Support for the Chemical Lab and as a Trainee Qualified Person. Educational achievements include an Additional Master in Industrial Pharmacy and a Master of Science in Drug Development, both from KU Leuven, where Ruben also completed a Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Science.
