David Eng

Director, Communications & Public Voice at GLSEN

David Eng is the Director of Communications and Public Voice at GLSEN. David has over 25 years of experience in marketing, communications, and public relations.

Eng began their career as the Director of Communications for the American Foundation for AIDS Research. In this role, they were responsible for creating and implementing a marketing and communications program that successfully branded the organization and achieved maximum visibility.

From 1994 to 1996, Eng served as the Deputy Director for Visitor Experience and Program Management at the Museum at Eldridge Street Synagogue. In this role, they oversaw all aspects of visitor experience, including programming, exhibitions, and events.

In December 2007, Eng joined the Lower East Side Tenement Museum as Vice President of Marketing & Communications. In this role, they were responsible for overall branding, marketing, public relations, and communications for the most visited historic site in Manhattan. Under Eng’s leadership, the museum saw a 30% increase in visitorship and raised its profile as the pre-eminent immigration museum in the US.

In July 2020, Eng left the Lower East Side Tenement Museum to join GLSEN as Director of Communications and Public Voice.

David Eng has a BFA in Communications Design and an Industrial Engineering degree from Brooklyn Technical High School. David also has a bachelor's degree in fine arts from Parsons School of Design - The New School.
