Director of Autonomy at Glydways

Warren Smith has a long and varied work experience beginning in 2001 as a Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From 2004-2006, they were an Operations Analyst for Brigham Young University. In 2006, they began working as a Senior Engineer for Raytheon. In 2013, they became a Research Assistant for IVILAB at The University of Arizona. From 2015-2019, they were a Senior Engineer for Uber where they defined requirements, sourced and tested radars, and wrote perception software for the world’s first commercial fleet of self-driving cars. In 2017, they became a Staff Engineer and Founding Member for Aurora Innovation. In 2021, they became Director of Perception for Insight Lidar and Director of Autonomy for Glydways.

Warren Smith obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering - Signal Processing, with a minor in Economics, from Brigham Young University between 2001 and 2006. Warren then went on to receive a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering - Signal Processing from the University of Southern California between 2007 and 2010. Finally, they completed a Master of Science (MS) in Statistics - Machine Learning from the University of Arizona between 2010 and 2015.
