Bert de Vries

Bert de Vries is a distinguished academic and research professional with extensive experience in the field of Electrical Engineering. Currently, Bert serves as a full-time professor of Natural Artificial Intelligence at Eindhoven University of Technology since September 2021, having previously held the position of part-time professor from 2012 to August 2021. Concurrently, Bert co-founded Lazy Dynamics in May 2023, which focuses on developing engineering tools for real-time Bayesian intelligent agents. Since April 1999, Bert has been a Principal Scientist at GN Hearing A/S, where research and leadership efforts concentrate on signal processing for advanced digital hearing aids, a role that has shifted to part-time since September 2021. Additional experience includes serving as Head of DSP Research at GN Hearing, a Research Fellow at Eindhoven University of Technology from 2004 to 2011, and a Member of the Technical Staff at SRI International from 1992 to 1999. Bert obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida and an M.Sc. from Eindhoven University of Technology.
