GO Foundation
Tyrone Turner is an experienced educator and instructor with a diverse background in teaching, financial literacy, martial arts, and youth counseling. Since August 2021, Tyrone has been a teacher at Great Oaks Charter Schools, focusing on urban middle school social studies education, emphasizing critical thinking and the integration of related disciplines. Tyrone has also served as a suited instructor at Prepare Inc. since January 2019, where techniques for safety and conflict resolution are taught. Additionally, Tyrone has a strong foundation in youth mentorship and financial coaching through roles at Urban Upbound and the NYC Department of Education. With extensive leadership experience in operations management at both Forrest Solutions Group and Williams Lea, Tyrone applies skills in budget management and team development across various educational and social service settings. Tyrone's educational background includes a Master of Arts from New York University and ongoing studies for a Master of Education at Brooklyn College.
GO Foundation
The GO Foundation is a non-profit organization with the mission of preparing students for college success through high-dosage tutoring. By design, GO's partner schools contribute to the vitality of the urban neighborhoods where they are located by attracting and creating social, human and investment capital. What sets GO's partner schools apart from others is a high-dosage tutoring model, which is delivered through the GO Fellowship, a selective cadre of recent college graduates who deliver at least two hours of individualized instruction to every student every day. The GO Foundation has successfully replicated this program in Newark, NJ, Bridgeport, CT, New York, NY, and Washington D.C.
