Shawn Yu

Shawn Yu is a Data Engineer with extensive experience in architecting cloud-based lakehouse solutions and developing data products utilizing Medallion architecture. Currently working at Go1 since June 2025, Shawn has previously contributed to RightShip, where responsibilities included building ETL/ELT pipelines with PySpark and SQL, implementing streaming and batch processing strategies for AIS maritime data, and optimizing geospatial data handling of 1.5 billion daily records. Prior to that, Shawn served as a BI Developer at RightShip, leading Power BI implementations and establishing development standards. Experience also includes roles at Seaway as a Data & Reporting Analyst and IT Support, complemented by a Master's degree in Information Technology from Monash University obtained between 2015 and 2017.
