Borja Valiente

Borja Valiente's work experience begins in 2011 when they worked as a Business Development professional for Volkswagen Group España Distribución. In 2012, they became self-employed as an Online Poker Professional until 2016. Following this, in 2014, Borja joined Deloitte China as a Junior Consultant for a brief period. In the same year, they founded Big Brain Languages, an online language tuition center, where they worked as a Co-Founder.

In 2016, Borja joined GoCardless as a Sales Development Representative, a role focused on simplifying recurring payments and transforming financial services. Borja then progressed to become an Inside Sales and Corporate Account Executive UK, responsible for efficient payment collection and sales channel management. Borja was later promoted to Senior Enterprise Account Executive, primarily handling major customers in the EMEA region.

In 2020, Borja assumed the role of Head of Corporate Sales - Northern Europe at GoCardless, overseeing sales operations in that region. In 2022, they were promoted again to Director of Sales UK&I, leading and scaling the company's UK&I Emerging Sales function. As the VP of Sales UK&I, Borja's responsibilities include managing a team of Sales Managers and Account Executives, achieving sales targets, and driving revenue growth.

Throughout their tenure at GoCardless, Borja has consistently achieved exceptional results, including surpassing booking targets, scaling teams, and overall contributions to the company's success.

Borja Valiente attended Peking University in 2013 for a short-term Chinese language program. In the same year, they also attended Beijing Language and Culture University for another short-term Chinese language program. Prior to that, from 2010 to 2011, they studied at Regents College London, specializing in International Business and Innovation in SME (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises). Borja'seducation history also includes a Bachelor's degree in International Business Management and Administration (taught in English) from Universidad de Valencia, which they completed from 2007 to 2011.
