Daniel May

Daniel May is an experienced software engineer who has worked for multiple companies. Daniel is currently employed at GoCardless since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at BBC from 2019 to 2020, where they built backend and cloud-based services, developed a new livestreaming platform, and productionised a machine learning pipeline. At the University of Oxford, they served as a software developer from 2016 to 2018, and as an undergraduate researcher in 2015, where they developed models and assisted with lab experiments. Daniel also had short-term internships at Giving What We Can and GiveWell in 2016 and 2015 respectively.

Daniel May completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Bristol from 2013 to 2016. Daniel then pursued a Master of Science degree in Computational Statistics and Machine Learning at UCL from 2020 to 2021.
