Gold Shield Wealth is owned and operated by Amy Ross. Amy founded Gold Shield Wealth with the hopes that her love of community and desire to help others would shine through. Having combined experience in both healthcare and finance, she believes in living life without the need of worrying about the financial pitfalls of retirement. Using many different strategies and knowledge, she believes in helping her clients live life to the fullest and do so without added stress. Amy spent her time in healthcare working with cancer patients and has learned that there is one certain truth: life is short, and time is precious.

As a financial advisor, Amy blends both backgrounds of healthcare and finance in order to make sure that no stone is left unturned. Amy is known for her heartfelt communication style and her ability to assist clients while making them feel cared for and heard. She prides herself on not approaching her clients with a transactional approach, but rather a family feel. Her focus is not only on growing and preserving retirement savings, but also in focusing on the many other costs that retirees will face, such as taxes and healthcare.

Amy was born and raised in coal mining country located in the hollers of Southwest Virginia. This environment has taught her the value of a dollar and in acknowledging the hard work and efforts of her retirees. She understands through all her life lessons and first-hand experiences growing up in a coal mining town that every dollar which her clients have put into their retirement savings is precious.

Upon leaving Virginia at a very young age, Amy made her way to Chapel Hill, NC where she earned her degree and took her healthcare knowledge to Minnesota, Charlotte, and finally Myrtle Beach, where she fell in love with retirement planning. After setting down roots in Myrtle Beach with her husband and four children, she has established herself as a prominent figure in the financial planning community.
