The Montreux - Bernese Oberland Railway (MOB) is a key player in tourism and transport in Switzerland. It operates three railway lines, forming a network of around 100 km of metre-gauge track, which run from the Riviera to the surrounding mountains (Montreux - Bernese Oberland, Vevey-Les Pléiades and Montreux-Rochers-de-Naye). In addition to trains, with or without cogwheels, there are three funicular railways (Vevey-Mt-Pèlerin, Les Avants-Sonloup, Territet-Glion), as well as mountain restaurants and several other affiliated companies and partners. In December 2022, it launched the Goldenpass Express, which now connects Montreux and Interlaken without changing trains, thanks to a variable gauge bogie.
