Stuart Kasdin

City Council Member at City of Goleta

Stuart Kasdin is an experienced public servant and educator currently serving as a Council Member on the Goleta City Council since November 2016 and as an Adjunct Professor at Santa Barbara Community College since August 2018. Kasdin has a background in running for office, having candidly campaigned for the Goleta City Council in 2016, focusing on community concerns related to development and resource management. Prior to their local government roles, Kasdin was an Assistant Professor at George Washington University (2010-2015), specializing in budgeting and public finance, and worked at the Office of Management and Budget (1990-2002) as a program examiner overseeing agriculture and conservation policies. Kasdin also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 1981 to 1984. Kasdin holds multiple degrees, including a PhD in Political Science from UC Santa Barbara and two Master’s Degrees from UC Davis in Agricultural and Resource Economics and International Agricultural Development.
