Markus Maalt

Markus Maalt is a Junior Space Systems Engineer at GomSpace since July 2024, having previously served as a System Engineering Intern. As Chief Operating Officer for Estonian Student Satellite from June 2023 to November 2024, Markus contributed to the development of nano- and picosatellites, uniquely positioning the project as Estonia's only satellite hardware initiative. In the role of ADCS Lead Engineer at Falconers, from August 2023 to June 2024, Markus led a software development team focused on Earth Observation applications. Markus also coordinated projects at TalTech Space Center, mentored high school students, and led a picosatellite project. Experience as a Test Engineer at Äike involved rigorous product testing, while time spent as a Product Development Engineer Intern at Rakett69 Teadusstuudiod included STEM education for youth. Earlier organizational leadership was demonstrated as Head Organiser for TEDxRoccaAlMareSchool and as a Watersports Instructor for the Estonian Yachting Union. Markus holds a Bachelor's degree in Product Development and Robotics from TalTech and is pursuing a Master's degree in Space Systems Engineering at DTU.
