John Grugan

Grugan is a partner at Holland & Knight LLP, where they serve as Practice Group Leader for Philadelphia Litigation and lead the Securities Enforcement Defense and Consumer Protection Defense and Compliance Groups. They defend companies and individuals in investigations and litigation brought by the SEC, CFPB, DOJ, and state attorneys general, and have extensive experience conducting internal investigations. Grugan previously served as a partner at Ballard Spahr LLP from 2001 to 2024 in the Consumer Financial Services Investigations and Securities Investigations Groups. They earned a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania (1988–1992) and a J.D., cum laude, from Temple University Beasley School of Law (1995–1998). Grugan is Chair of the Board of Trustees at St. Joseph's Prep and Chair of the Board of Directors at Good360.
