Ani Backa

Ani Backa has a background in law and energy, focused on developing AI-enabled energy solutions and scalable revenue models. They served as an Attorney in the General Counsel's Office at Xcel Energy and later as Government Affairs Manager, before transitioning to roles at Stoel Rives LLP and sonnen GmbH, where they led regulatory strategy and utility initiatives. Currently, Ani is the Vice President of Virtual Power Plants at GoodLeap and previously held the position of Director, VPP and New Markets at NextEra Energy Services. Ani is pursuing degrees in Political Science from Duke University and a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law, both while also engaging with the University of Minnesota.
